An agent with a USDC wallet on Base can call
/v1/x402/topup directly: no sign-in, cycles in the response. No released icp-cli command buys from CyclePay yet, so finish purchases on this site. Auto-refill checks every 30 min and charges your saved card off-session (CyclePay's backend canister must be a controller). CLAUDE.md snippet.The Cycles Minting Canister burns ICP and mints cycles at its current ICP/XDR rate, which it refreshes from the Exchange Rate Canister every few minutes.

ICP to cycles is irreversible. Cycles cannot be converted back to ICP. They are consumed by canister operations.

No margin is added. CyclePay's canister prices each order with an XDR/USD rate it refreshes from the Exchange Rate Canister every 6 hours, so the quote you see before paying can differ slightly. You pay only the rail's fee: 2.9% + $0.30 on cards, nothing on USDC on Base, $0.02 on ck-USDC. Cycles Ledger deliveries also carry 0.0002T in Cycles Ledger fees.
